Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, May 23, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were clean and still hollow on the sets all day. Even through the high tide when it is usually fat.

Josh S

This boogeyboarder looks like he is enjoying the rivermouth right. Check in and enjoy the view.

Josh S

I didn’t know Kenny was back in town, but I saw him out in the water and welcomed him back. I didn’t recognize his dyed blonde hair haha. He had the good foresight to see the incoming tube section on another rivermouth right.

Josh S

Wham! This guy probably nailed the most powerful and sharp turn of the session right here.

Josh S

This guy missed some time in the tube because he didn’t pig-dog the drop but…

Josh S

He redeemed himself and showcased some style by checking into a backside barrel standing up (no grab). These are very difficult to pull off successfully, so props to this dude on his no grab backside barrel.

The south peak was the spot to be today. Another right runner / bender peeling away for a stoked surfer. There were some good lefts rolling through on the other side of the peak, it’s just that today’s surfers preferred going right.

Josh S

Mr. No-Grab back at it pushing his fins and rail to their limits. The ring of spray might’ve registered as a tsunami haha.

Josh S

It wasn’t all tubes out there. It was really rippable and great for combos. Even high tide had steep enough sections to really push through your top turns.

Josh S

Speed isn’t always desirable in surfing… Haha!

Josh S

Little Ray (I think his name is Ray) teeing up down South to close today’s report. It was super duper glassy all day today, so I’m sure the kiddos like him enjoyed the conditions.

An insider that you could’ve been on! Surf season continues to provide playful waves here in Hacienda Iguana. Tomorrow’s forecast is for smaller waves, but I think it will still be shreddable out there! Hasta mañana.
