Hey everyone! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. Welcome to Wednesday October the 1st’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were very fun yesterday and again today! In fact, the waves were pretty good all day long. These are the lucky days that we hope for when the onshores and rain are persistent.

Alvaro surfs very "tall" so he is a good measuring stick. Looks at least head-high top-to-bottom to me.

His stance was definitely too narrow in my opinion, but his overall line and stalling were good for nearly the entirety of the ride.

He traveled a good ways in this thing. He would've had his chest puffed out had he made it. But unfortunately he needed a touch more speed at the very end at the exit. Still good surfing. I respect that these boys can fly down from the cold North and still surf well.

This mystery chica was incognito with her hat on. Her flashy apparel and board caught my eye. She surfs well too. Honestly the hat is a good call given how gnarly the glare from the sun has been recently.

Both yesterday and today way overshot what was forecasted. It just goes to show that you really have to be able to map the nuance in the forecast to real observed conditions. Surfline and Windguru can show us "The Numbers Mason", but it's the ability to interpret the numbers and pick the best windows that gets you barreled. This time of the year is super variable and volatile conditions-wise. So it helps to get eyes on the surf frequently throughout the day and focus on monitoring the wind forecast rather than the swell, as the wind is usually the deal maker, or breaker, in October.
